Summary: The Training & Delivery Consultant role focuses on facilitating the adoption of operational improvements within a Defence and Maritime programme. The position requires a hands-on approach, working closely with frontline teams to observe activities and drive behavioural change. The consultant will engage with employees, deliver training, and support change management initiatives. This role is operationally intensive and requires strong interpersonal skills to foster engagement and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Spend significant time within operational and shop-floor environments to understand current processes, behaviours, and challenges.
- Identify gaps between existing ways of working and the desired future-state operating model.
- Build strong working relationships with frontline employees and junior stakeholders to encourage engagement and adoption of new practices.
- Deliver coaching, training, and support to operational teams to facilitate change initiatives.
- Gather structured observations and insights from the field and provide clear feedback to programme leadership.
- Act as a key link between operational teams and the wider programme, ensuring solutions remain practical and aligned with real-world requirements.
- Support change management and readiness activities to drive successful implementation of programme objectives.
- Conduct one-to-one and small group sessions to reinforce new ways of working and address concerns.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience delivering training, coaching, or operational support within a shop-floor, manufacturing, engineering, defence, or operational environment.
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills with the ability to quickly establish credibility.
- Excellent observation, analytical, and note-taking skills.
- Ability to convert operational observations into concise and actionable reports.
- Experience supporting organisational change, transformation, or continuous improvement initiatives.
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills.

Security Clearance
- Active SC Clearance preferred.
- Candidates with BPSS clearance and an SC application in progress will also be considered.
Working Arrangement
- 4 days per week onsite in Edinburgh.
- Work from home on Fridays.
- Immediate start preferred.
- Contract until the end of August.
