Summary: The Traffic Management Manager at Egis is responsible for overseeing all aspects of temporary traffic management on the M40 contract, ensuring compliance with safety standards and effective team management. This hybrid role involves proactive management of traffic management teams, equipment, and design implementation, while also maintaining communication with various stakeholders. Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively manage all Traffic Management teams to ensure effective role execution and adherence to company guidelines.
- Work a hybrid schedule of days and nights to maintain high service standards.
- Ensure compliance of Traffic Management closures with Chapter 8 standards.
- Conduct regular nighttime reviews of Traffic Management teams and equipment.
- Produce and review risk assessments and method statements with the TTM designer.
- Oversee the design and creation of TTM drawings per industry standards.
- Liaise with the Training and Fleet Coordinator and Service Delivery Manager regarding vehicle requirements.
- Ensure TTM vehicles and equipment are maintained and compliant with Chapter 8.
- Identify and implement improvement plans in accordance with the contract.
- Coordinate with the Planning team for crew availability for planned works.
- Participate in Duty Manager and Winter Engineer rotation and provide ad-hoc support as needed.
- Maintain sufficient staff numbers for correct crew levels.
- Provide timely information and feedback for management reporting.
- Ensure Traffic Management training is up to date and scheduled appropriately.
- Stay informed on legislation changes affecting Traffic Management and communicate with Senior Management.
- Attend regular and ad-hoc meetings with the Service Delivery Team.
- Promote teamwork and a positive work environment.
- Develop and maintain good relationships with clients and partners.
- Engage with health, safety, and wellbeing initiatives.
Key Skills:
- Extensive experience in managing Traffic Management design, implementation, and safety on high-speed roads.

The contract is for routine O&M services, and provision of a dedicated incident response unit. There are 110+ staff across 3 depots. The contract also includes the management of road incidents, road availability / road-space bookings, and running Network Control Centre NCC).
About the Role
MISSION & MAIN ACTIVITIES: Reporting to the ERO M40 Service Delivery Manager, the Traffic Management Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the use of temporary traffic management on the M40 contract. This will include but is not limited to all types of temporary traffic management, staff levels, equipment, vehicles, traffic management design and implementation as well as the health and safety of all aspects of traffic management on the highway.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively manage all Traffic Management teams to ensure they carry out their role effectively and follow all guidelines as set out by the company.
- This is a hybrid role, working a mixture of days and nights to ensure the service is carried out to a high standard.
- Ensure all Traffic Management closures installed by Egis comply with Chapter 8 parts 1,2 and 3 and that any traffic management installed on the highway is visible and to required standards.
- Undertake regular nighttime reviews of the Traffic Management teams and equipment and how TTM is being installed.
- In conjunction with the TTM designer produce and review all risk assessments and method statements relating to Traffic Management on the M40.
- Oversee the design and creation of TTM drawings in line with the current industry standards.
- Liaise with the Training and Fleet Coordinator and Service Delivery Manager on all vehicle requirements
- Ensure TTM vehicles are maintained and comply with Chapter 8.
- Ensure TTM equipment provided is in good condition and compliant with both Chapter 8 and contractual requirements.
- Identify and implement improvement plans and strategies in accordance with the contract.
- Liaise with the Planning team to ensure sufficient crew availability for the planned works.
- Be part of the Duty Manager and Winter Engineer rotation as per the pre-programmed rota, also provide Ad-Hoc support as required by the Service Delivery Manager.
- Ensure staff numbers are sufficient to maintain correct crew levels at all times.
- Provide timely information and feedback as required by Egis M40 Management for reporting purposes.
- In conjunction with the Training and Fleet Coordinator, ensure Traffic Management training is kept up to date and training is booked suitably in advance to ensure that TM tickets do not lapse.
- Keep up to date with changes to legislation related to Traffic Management and inform the Senior Management Team if there are any changes that may impact the operation.
- Attend regular calendared meetings with the Service Delivery Team discussing project planning, delivery, quality, and operational requirements. This role will also require the attendance at Ad-Hoc meetings as and when required.

What do we need from you
IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL POSSES:
- Extensive experience of managing Traffic Management design, implementation and safety on a high-speed road.
- Demonstrable experience of managing and organising TTM trained staff, vehicles and equipment
- IHE TTM Engineer qualification (completed or working towards)
- A demonstrable ability to identify areas for improvement, and implement change, through a combination of clear and effective communication, and a drive to succeed.
- Considerable and demonstrable experience of a high regard to safety and quality on a high-speed strategic road network.
- Capable of making informed decisions under pressure, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
