Who We Are Looking For

Quanteam UK are seeking a Trading Systems Support & Development Engineer to join a team of four dedicated to the ETFs market making desk.

The role is available on either a permanent or a contract basis.

The role holder will be responsible for supporting, maintaining and developing the trading system used by the desk.

Working closely with traders, the role holder will use their technical skills to support the desk's production and to develop and implement efficient monitoring and analysis tools.

The role is split broadly between support (approximately 40%) and development (approximately 60%).

Key responsibilities

  • Providing L1/L2 support to traders and ensuring trading systems are up and running at all times.
  • Developing tools that help ensure systems are reliable and efficient.
  • Rationalising and enhancing platform reliability.
  • Ensuring the proper follow-up of issues with the relevant teams.
  • Maintaining and enhancing existing support, monitoring and analysis tools.
  • Working with traders and research colleagues on the requirements of new features and applications.

Technical Competence

  • Strong knowledge of Linux, including development and debugging, scripting, and networking.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of Python scripting.
  • Good knowledge of C++ code, at least as a reader.

Behavioural Competence

  • Ability to work effectively under the pressure of a production environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Effective problem-solving skills.
  • Clear, collaborative communication in working closely with traders to support the desk's production.
