Summary: Trade Finance Project Manager needed for a leading investment bank in London, focusing on overseeing the IT migration to a new Trade Finance application and enhancing related business processes. The role requires strong project management skills and knowledge of trade finance systems. The position is inside IR35 and requires three days a week on-site work. The candidate will be responsible for managing multiple IT projects and ensuring strategic objectives are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overall programme/project management of all assigned IT programmes/projects including preparation of project initiation documents, project plans, and quality management documentation.
- Deliver strategic objectives across business lines via projects and programmes.
- Ensure projects are delivered against the project plan and all milestones are met.
- Manage changes and ensure appropriate documentation is available.
- Coordinate deployment and release activities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
- Set up Steering Committees and cross-functional governance structures.
- Prepare monthly reports for the Project Steering Committee.
- Prepare documentation for IT Strategy Committee or C-Suite level as required.
- Work with sponsors to build business cases and prioritize projects.
- Collaborate with IT planning teams for budget approval.
- Track projects against budget and ensure delivery within approved limits.
- Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts and service level agreements.
- Identify and manage cross-project risks, issues, dependencies, and assumptions.
- Proactively resolve risks and issues, escalating when necessary.
- Manage internal and external resources in a matrix organization.
- Ensure project deliverables adhere to quality and risk management policies.
- Provide weekly project status reports to relevant teams and stakeholders.
Key Skills:
- Detailed knowledge and experience of Trade Finance system projects.
- Knowledge of end-to-end Trade Finance business processes (desirable).
- Experience with Eximbills (desirable).
- Relevant Project management qualification (APM, PMP, etc.).
- Good understanding of project management methodologies including agile (Scrum and Kanban).
- Strong stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- In-depth knowledge of all areas of IT.
- Understanding of financial market products.
- Customer-focused with a service delivery mentality.
