Summary: A Tools Development Engineer (Metrology) position is available at the Broughton plant, focusing on the industrialization of jigs and tools. The role involves collaboration with R&D, design specifications, and ensuring successful project handovers. The jobholder will also contribute to production investigations utilizing tooling and metrology skills. This position offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic engineering function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure successful industrialization of SA Jigs and Tools Requests and supporting Projects (creation, development and modification) until final acceptance and handover to the corresponding Operations Team.
- Integrate mature industrial technologies in line with R&D.
- Collaborate with R&D to integrate requirements and consolidate Industrial Vision.
- Design and/or specify the requested Jigs and Tools assets according to requirements.
- Contribute to CDT MFT for production investigations utilizing tooling and metrology skillset.
- Qualified Jigs and Tools assets.
- Interpretation of aircraft design model and relay into operations and operational support.
- Definition of the certification, re certification, qualification and re-qualification process, features and schedule.
- Jigs and Tools Technical Assessments.
- Jigs and Tools Technical Acceptance Reports.
- Jigs and Tools assets Design and Manufacturing data set.
Key Skills:
- Ability to operate from first principles in manufacturing disciplines and activities requiring technical skills and knowledge to make daily business decisions.
- Working knowledge of Manufacturing Engineering, Design and other Business Information Systems.
- Experienced knowledge of aircraft production, and engineering methods and procedures.
- Understanding of relationships and interactions with other Manufacturing Engineering and Business functions.
- Leadership skills, and self-motivated are desirable.
- Experience in a manufacturing and engineering environment required.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management.
