Summary: The Tools Development Engineer role at an aerospace client in Broughton focuses on the industrialization of Jigs and Tools, overseeing their development and integration into operations. The position requires collaboration with R&D to ensure alignment with industrial requirements and involves designing assets to meet operational needs. Key responsibilities include qualification of tools, interpretation of design models, and producing technical documentation. The role is contract-based until the end of 2025 and classified as inside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the creation, development, and modification of Jigs and Tools until final acceptance and handover to the Operations Team.
  • Integrate mature industrial technologies in collaboration with R&D.
  • Design and specify Jigs and Tools assets to meet operational needs.
  • Contribute to production investigations through tooling and metrology expertise.
  • Qualify Jigs and Tools assets and define certification and qualification processes.
  • Produce technical assessments, acceptance reports, and comprehensive design and manufacturing datasets.

Key Skills:

  • Strong technical skills in manufacturing disciplines.
  • Experience in aircraft production and engineering methods.
  • Working knowledge of Manufacturing Engineering, Design, and Business Information Systems.
  • Understanding of interactions between Manufacturing Engineering and other business functions.
  • Leadership skills and self-motivation.
  • Experience in a manufacturing and engineering environment.

Salary (Rate): £36.70
