Summary: The Tools Development Engineer will be responsible for the industrialization of jigs and tools requests, collaborating with R&D to integrate requirements and ensure successful project handover. This role requires a strong background in manufacturing engineering and experience in aircraft production. The position is fully onsite in Broughton, Flintshire, with a contract lasting until the end of 2025.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure successful industrialization of SA Jigs and Tools Requests and support projects until final acceptance and handover.
- Integrate mature industrial technologies in line with R&D.
- Collaborate with R&D to integrate requirements and consolidate Industrial Vision.
- Design and/or specify requested Jigs and Tools assets according to requirements.
- Contribute to CDT MFT for production investigations utilizing tooling and metrology skillset.
- Interpret aircraft design models and relay information into operations and operational support.
- Define certification, re-certification, qualification, and re-qualification processes, features, and schedules.
- Prepare Jigs and Tools Technical Assessments and Technical Acceptance Reports.
- Develop Jigs and Tools assets Design and Manufacturing data sets.
Key Skills:
- Ability to operate from first principles in manufacturing disciplines.
- Working knowledge of Manufacturing Engineering, Design, and Business Information Systems.
- Experienced knowledge of aircraft production and engineering methods.
- Understanding of relationships and interactions with other Manufacturing Engineering and Business functions.
- Leadership skills and self-motivation are desirable.
- Experience in a manufacturing and engineering environment.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with jigs and tooling, ideally within aviation.
