Tools Design Engineer

Summary: Cyient is seeking a Tool Design Engineer to work onsite in a high-tech production facility in the UK, focusing on the design and development of composite aircraft components. The engineer will be responsible for creating tooling solutions from concept to production while continuously improving production processes. Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop tooling solutions including mould tools, 5-axis fixtures, and assembly jigs.
• Resolve issues in the internal and external supply chain.
• Create tool fabrication quotes and manage tooling configuration changes.
• Utilize root cause analysis and implement preventative and corrective actions to reduce non-conformances.
• Continuously improve production processes through Lean initiatives.

Key Skills:

• Minimum 5 years experience in Tool Design related to composite molds and assembly jigs.
• Hands-on experience with Catia V5.
• Experience in development of tooling solutions from concept to production.
• Understanding of Design for Manufacture (DFM).
• Familiarity with ISO9000, AS9100, or D1-9000.
• Background in Aerospace industry.
• Familiarity with AS9145 APQP process or equivalent.
• Understanding and use of an ERP system.
• Green Belt Certified.
