Summary: The Test & Commissioning Technician role involves working at a modern Rolling Stock production facility, focusing on implementing modifications for the new London Underground Stock. The technician will perform tests, repairs, and diagnostics on various train systems, ensuring operational efficiency and safety. Candidates must have relevant qualifications and experience in Rolling Stock testing or commissioning. The position requires passing a drugs and alcohol test as part of the hiring process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tests and repairs on the systems including HVAC, CCTV, PIS and lighting
  • Helping with detailed fault finding and diagnostics
  • Re-wires and electrical component changes
  • Repairs and calibrations to door systems
  • Download train data from on board train data recorders using laptops
  • Run diagnostics software to identify faults with various train systems i.e. hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, train management systems & on board computers
  • System software updates as required

Key Skills:

  • Minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent award in an Engineering discipline
  • Minimum 2 years Rolling Stock testing or commissioning experience
  • Ability to pass a drugs and alcohol test

Job Title: Test & Commissioning Technician Location: East Yorkshire Hourly Pay Rate: 24.55 Paye / 33.00 Umbrella Shifts: Minimum of 40 hours a week, potentially rising to 45 hours after 12 weeks Shift Pattern: Mon - Fri 06:30 - 14:30 / 14:30 - 22:30 rotating weekly Duration: On-going contract Start Date: January 2026 Position Summary: Working at a modern Rolling Stock production facility you who will initially be engaged for the implementation of a suite of modifications for the new London Underground Stock.
