About the role
We're looking for a Test Tools Administrator to own the configuration, governance and day-to-day running of the tools our test teams rely on.
You'll make sure our test, defect and risk information in Jira and Azure DevOps is accurate, consistent and auditable, and that the people using it can follow our processes without unnecessary friction.
You'll work with multiple projects, teams and suppliers, and with test leads and governance stakeholders, to keep our tooling reliable and our reporting trusted.
What you'll do
- Configure and maintain test, defect, risk and reporting workflows in Jira, Azure DevOps, or integrated test-management extensions
- Set and enforce consistent fields, statuses, transitions, templates, naming conventions, mandatory data and traceability rules
- Manage user access, roles, permissions, project structures, boards, queries, filters, dashboards and notifications
- Support migrations, bulk updates, imports, exports, integrations and controlled data corrections
- Monitor data quality and work with teams to fix incomplete, duplicated, stale or inconsistent records
- Produce standard dashboards and scheduled reports covering test progress, coverage, execution, defects, trends, ageing and readiness
- Provide guidance, training, onboarding and day-to-day support to users
- Maintain configuration documentation, change control, audit trails and release notes for tool changes
- Work with test leads and governance stakeholders to improve usability without weakening process controls or historical reporting
What you'll bring
Essential
Hands-on administration of Jira, Azure DevOps, or comparable application lifecycle management (ALM) tooling
A good understanding of test management, defect workflows, dashboards, queries, permissions and data governance
Experience supporting multiple projects, teams, suppliers and reporting audiences in a controlled delivery environment
Desirable
- Knowledge of integrations, APIs, marketplace extensions and reporting tools
Skills and behaviours
- Strong attention to detail and logical problem-solving
- A customer-service mindset and a disciplined approach to process
- The ability to turn governance requirements into usable tool configurations and clear guidance
- Confident communication, supporting users while maintaining agreed controls and standards
What success looks like
- Test and defect information is accurate, timely, consistent and auditable
- Users can follow agreed processes with minimal administrative friction
- Dashboards and reports reconcile with the underlying data and support good decisions
- Configuration changes are controlled, documented, tested and communicated
