Test Manager (NHS healthcare)

We are seeking an experienced Test Manager to take full ownership of test delivery for healthcare IT programmes. This is a hands-on test leadership role where you will establish rigorous quality assurance across all testing phases, drive test issue resolution across internal teams and suppliers, and build a reusable test framework that forms the foundation for an ongoing test function.

You will be accountable for full life cycle test management from planning through to acceptance and sign-off, working autonomously within a fast-paced healthcare transformation environment with minimal direction. You will develop test strategies and plans aligned with solution architecture and risk profiles, execute testing across functional and non-functional scope, and deliver test scripts, issue logs, status reports, phase reports, and acceptance deliverables with appropriate stakeholder sign-off.

Must have the following:

• Proven experience delivering full life cycle test management from planning through to acceptance and sign-off across complex technical programmes
• Strong test strategy and test planning expertise with clear articulation of test breakdown structures aligned with solution architecture and risk profiles
• Demonstrated capability executing testing across functional and non-functional scope with rigorous defect management
• Experience establishing reusable testing approaches, templates, and frameworks that can be deployed across multiple projects
• Strong test issue resolution leadership - driving defect triage and resolution across internal teams, external suppliers, and stakeholders
• Excellent stakeholder coordination skills - managing testing across project management, technical teams, IT leads, and end users
• Autonomous working style with ownership mentality - able to drive testing activities without top cover

Highly desirable:
Healthcare domain experience, which will significantly benefit delivery speed and credibility

This is a hands-on test management leadership role. You will be expected to own test execution, drive issue resolution, improve test predictability, and build confidence across the programme in how quality is delivered.
