Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and deliver a modern test strategy covering functional, integration, regression, and non-functional testing.
  • Select and implement test automation tools suited to healthcare integration and messaging environments.
  • Build a first-of-type automated test pack for critical HL7, FHIR, API, and messaging flows.
  • Work closely with internal engineering teams and third-party development partners to embed quality throughout the SDLC.
  • Establish clear processes for test management, reporting, environment parity, and release confidence.
  • Mentor and upskill testers, analysts, and developers to leave lasting internal capability.
  • Act as a senior stakeholder interface, translating risk and quality into clear business outcomes.

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience as an Engineering Manager, Test Manager, or Senior Lead in complex or regulated environments.
  • Strong background in test automation, CI/CD pipelines, and tool selection (Azure DevOps preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with integration testing (APIs, messaging, HL7, FHIR).
  • Confident working across in-house teams and third-party vendors, driving shared ownership and standards.
  • Excellent communicator who can bridge technical detail and senior stakeholders.
  • NHS / healthcare / regulated domain experience.
  • Familiarity with clinical safety standards and interoperability.
  • Experience improving fragmented or manual testing estates.
