Venesky-Brown s client, a public sector organisation in Glasgow, is currently looking to recruit a Test Manager for an initial 3 month contract with option to extend on a rate of 500/day (Outside IR35). This role will be a hybrid of working at home and in the office.Responsibilities:- Develop test strategies as per specific requirements- Develop standards for documentation for each stage of the testing cycle- Execution of an agreed Testing approach and detailed planning- Management of Test Plans, risks, issues and changes to ensure successful delivery of the testing activity- Responsible for testing reporting and visibility to various governance forums- Owning Test Phase related changes to ensure overarching programme milestones are achieved- Direct and monitor the work of assigned Testing resources- Identify and manage problems, risks and issues which may affect the successful delivery of the Test Phase, initiating or escalating corrective action as appropriate- Support all aspects of communication related to the test Phase, including the preparation of collateral as agreed with the test workstream lead and/or Project Senior Reporting Officer (SRO)- Support the integration of project outcomes into business-as-usual, addressing the readiness of users, compatibility of work systems and the realisation of benefits- Establishing and managing reviews at appropriate points during and after migration events- Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and represent the project and business as usual changes at relevant Test Phase meetings- Work alongside the test workstream leads in developing plans and schedules to successfully ensure successful outcomes- Coordinate and support the business experts and application support teams to carry out testing of changes to operational systems- Deploy test methodologies to achieve expected results- Support the transition to an Application Lifecycle Management approach, including the subsequent transition to automated testing for business applications- Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and represent the project and business as usual changes at relevant Test Phase meetings- Review existing artefacts and processes and amend as required- Support any new ways of working e.g., test automationEssential Skills:- Proven track record of managing Test Phases within agreed timescales - Accustomed to delivering in demanding and high paced organisations- Experience implementing Test Automation tools and processes- Experience of developing test strategy with supporting documentation standards- Experience in Transformation Projects/Programmes (upgrades, implementations)- Experience of working closely with key stakeholders - Confident and competent in Microsoft Office applications including MS project- Good knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling Test Phases- Analytical thinker able to interpret information and statistical performance analysis for both internal and external purposes - Good decision-making skills- Excellent planning and organisational skills- Excellent communication and presentation skills with an ability to build strong relationships at all levels- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills to ensure the most effective and efficient delivery of the Project/Test Phase- Ability to foster a culture of trust and co-operation and team working- Self-Starter- Good Attention to detail- Strong customer focus- High level of personal adaptability i.e., able to remain effective in changing business circumstances - Highly motivated/enthusiasticDesirable Skills:- Experience of MS Dynamics 365 projects- Experienced using Azure DevOps (or TFS), JIRA and SharePoint Experience of Agile Delivery- Ability to bring together different teams to work collaborativelyIf you would like to hear more about this opportunity please get in touch.
