Role Description

The role will be responsible for the end-to-end management of UAT for the Credit Risk & Management area, which consists of multiple projects, applications, interfaces and releases.

The role will coordinate business acceptance testing across the portfolio, ensuring that UAT is appropriately scoped, planned, prepared, executed and signed off.

In addition, the role will coordinate the programme-wide test environment, test data and release requirements needed to support testing across all programme workstreams.

Working closely with the Programme Test Manager, Test Leads and Technical Delivery Managers, the role will create and maintain an integrated view of the environments, test data, application releases and deployments required to deliver the programme test schedule.

The role will act as a key testing interface with the Bank's centralised Environment Management and Release Management teams, ensuring requirements are identified early, dependencies are understood, delivery is tracked against required dates and issues are escalated where they could impact testing.

Required Knowledge & Experience

  • Strong experience operating as a Test Manager, UAT Test Manager or Senior Test Lead within banking or financial services.
  • Demonstrable experience managing UAT across multiple projects, applications and releases.
  • Strong knowledge of end-to-end test management including planning, preparation, execution, defect management, reporting and sign-off.
  • Experience working across complex programmes with multiple concurrent delivery workstreams.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the integrated UAT plan across Credit Risk & Management projects and releases.
  • Work with Business Owners and SMEs to define and confirm UAT scope, business scenarios, acceptance criteria and business participation requirements.
  • Coordinate UAT preparation including test scenarios, test cases, test data, environment requirements, user access and tester readiness.
  • Ensure appropriate traceability between business requirements, test scenarios and execution evidence.
  • Define and manage UAT entry and exit criteria and ensure readiness assessments are completed ahead of execution.
  • Coordinate UAT execution across multiple projects and applications, monitoring progress against agreed plans.
  • Facilitate defect triage across Business, IT QA, Development, vendors and relevant technical teams.
  • Ensure defects are appropriately recorded, prioritised, progressed, retested and closed.
  • Manage UAT risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies and escalate where required.
  • Coordinate UAT completion reporting and business sign-off.
  • Ensure UAT evidence is appropriately captured and maintained within Jira/Xray.
  • Provide clear status reporting covering preparation, execution, defects, risks, readiness and completion.
  • Maintain an integrated view of which environments, applications, interfaces and supporting services are required for each planned test phase and release.
  • Align environment requirements and required-by dates to the overall programme test schedule.
  • Coordinate environment bookings, refreshes, resets, configuration changes and other readiness activities with the central Environment Management team.
  • Track environment availability and readiness ahead of planned testing.
  • Work with the central Release & Environments team to identify shared environment conflicts and competing demand across workstreams, releases and external programmes.
  • Coordinate resolution of environment scheduling conflicts with Test Leads, TDMs and the central Environment Management team.
  • Track environment incidents or outages affecting testing and ensure appropriate teams are engaged to resolve them.
  • Escalate environment constraints where they could impact programme milestones.
  • Maintain forward visibility of upcoming environment requirements so that requests are raised with sufficient lead time.
  • Support Test Leads to coordinate data provisioning, creation, refreshes, extracts, loads and masking activities where required.
  • Work with Test Leads and Technical Delivery Managers to identify application releases and deployments required to support planned testing.
  • Maintain an integrated programme view of test-related release and deployment activity.
  • Coordinate release requirements and required deployment dates with the central Release & Environments Management team.
  • Support relevant test-entry and release-readiness decisions by providing the environment, data and deployment readiness position.
  • Maintain a consolidated programme view covering workstream, project, release, test phase, application, environment, test data, deployment and required-by dates.
  • Work regularly with Test Leads and TDMs to validate upcoming requirements and changes to delivery plans.
  • Ensure test environment, test data and release requirements are raised sufficiently early with central teams.
  • Participate in programme test governance, readiness reviews and quality-gate discussions.
  • Provide the Programme Test Manager with clear reporting on upcoming requirements, readiness, risks, conflicts and decisions required.
  • Maintain programme-level risks, issues and dependencies relating to environments, data and releases.
  • Support cross-workstream planning where testing requires multiple systems or teams to be available simultaneously.
  • Escalate unresolved issues through the appropriate programme governance routes.
