Joining a small but busy consultancy who are engaged on a key Government Secure programme, who are designing and delivering secure-by-default digital platforms for a high-assurance environment on critical national infrastructure. This is an opportunity to shape and assure complex integration and testing strategies across nationally significant secure platforms.

They are looking for an experienced Test & Integration Manager to provide strategic leadership across testing, assurance, and integration activities within a major government transformation programme. You will define and oversee the overall Test & Integration Strategy across multiple delivery streams operating within a SAFe environment, ensuring systems, suppliers and delivery teams align to deliver secure, resilient, and operationally effective outcomes. This role requires someone capable of operating at both strategic and hands-on levels — influencing programme direction while ensuring robust execution across complex delivery landscapes.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Define and own the overarching Test & Integration Strategy across multiple delivery streams
• Ensure testing and integration approaches align with architecture, security accreditation, and service management requirements
• Drive a “quality by design” culture across engineering, architecture, and delivery leadership
• Lead integration activities across legacy systems, private cloud platforms, and SaaS services
• Oversee: Environment strategy Integration sequencing Dependency management Test data coordination
• Ensure non-functional testing is embedded into delivery planning, including: Performance Resilience Security Operability Usability
• Establish proportionate governance models including: Readiness assessments Entry/exit criteria Risk acceptance frameworks
• Provide authoritative Go / No-Go recommendations for releases into live or controlled environments
• Support evidence-based assurance for accreditation and operational acceptance
• Lead and mentor Test Engineers and Scrum teams
• Engage with architects, security authorities, programme leadership, and third-party suppliers
• Define meaningful quality and integration metrics to provide visibility of delivery health and risk
• Drive continuous improvement through retrospectives, lessons learned and modern testing practices

What We’re Looking For

Essential Experience

• Extensive experience leading test and integration activities across large-scale, business-critical programmes
• Strong background working within government, regulated or high-assurance environments
• Proven delivery experience across complex multi-supplier and hybrid technology landscapes
• Strong understanding of: Agile delivery DevOps CI/CD Modern testing methodologies
• Experience with: Automation strategies API testing Infrastructure validation Cloud and platform-based architectures
• Ability to engage credibly with architects, engineers, and security specialists
• Experience influencing senior stakeholders at programme or principal level
• Comfortable making risk-based decisions within high-pressure delivery environments
• Strong balance of assurance rigour and delivery pragmatism

Desirable Experience & Certifications

• ISTQB Advanced Test Manager or equivalent
• BCS Practitioner Certificate in Software Testing
• TMMi Professional / Lead Assessor
• SAFe certifications such as: SAFe Agilist SAFe Programme Consultant (SPC)
• Experience delivering within large-scale government or public sector programmes

Clearance Requirements

This role requires active SC Clearance. Candidates must also be willing to undergo Developed Vetting (DV). Due to client security restrictions, applicants must hold UK Citizenship.
