Test Engineer – Vehicle Safety

Summary: The Test Engineer – Vehicle Safety role involves conducting physical destructive testing on components, systems, and vehicles to meet Passive Safety targets at the Vehicle Safety Test Laboratories in Gaydon. The candidate will collaborate with customers and utilize modern test equipment to manage tests and produce timely reports. The position may initially require day shifts but could transition to shifts later in the year. A degree is preferred but not essential for applicants.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct physical destructive testing on components, systems, and vehicles.
• Collaborate with customers to use data for engineering development and compliance evidence.
• Translate regulation and requirement test protocols.
• Manage tests through to completion and produce test reports on time.
• Potentially work shifts later in the year.

Key Skills:

• Experience of physical testing in a laboratory.
• Working knowledge of passive safety regulations and requirements, including FMVSS and ECE.
• Working knowledge of instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
• Degree educated desired but not essential.
