Summary: The Senior Test Engineer/Senior Consultant role is a contract position focused on leading automation and accessibility testing within a major governmental digital transformation program. The candidate will ensure quality and compliance of applications built on a modern React and Node JS stack, with a strong emphasis on WCAG 2.2 standards. This senior consulting position requires extensive hands-on expertise in testing methodologies and technologies. The role is hybrid, requiring 2-3 days onsite per week in London.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect, design, and maintain robust, scalable test automation frameworks using Selenium and Cucumber.
  • Lead the implementation of accessibility testing strategies, ensuring full compliance with WCAG 2.2 standards across all applications.
  • Conduct functional, non-functional, integration, and end-to-end testing across the full technology stack.
  • Collaborate closely with Development, Architecture, and Product teams to drive quality throughout the SDLC.

Key Skills:

  • Expert proficiency with Selenium and Cucumber (or similar BDD tools).
  • Direct, demonstrable experience testing against WCAG 2.2 standards.
  • Practical experience using assistive technologies such as JAWS and/or Dragon.
  • Deep experience with mocking and stubbing using Mockito (or similar frameworks).
  • Active BPSS Clearance is a mandatory prerequisite.
  • Experience integrating tests within the AWS stack.
  • Proven experience testing applications built on both React (Front End) and Node JS (Back End) services.

  • Proficiency with Git for version control and CI/CD integration.

A leading Governmental client is seeking an expert Senior Test Engineer to join a major digital transformation programme. This role is fundamental to ensuring the quality, performance, and regulatory compliance of their mission-critical applications built on a modern React and Node JS stack.

This is a senior consulting position requiring a highly skilled individual capable of designing and implementing best-practice testing strategies, with a critical focus on robust automation and strict WCAG 2.2 accessibility compliance.

Candidates must possess extensive, hands-on expertise in the following technologies and methodologies:
