Summary: The Senior Test Engineer/Senior Consultant role is a contract position focused on leading automation and accessibility testing within a major governmental digital transformation program. The candidate will ensure quality and compliance of applications built on a modern React and Node JS stack, with a strong emphasis on WCAG 2.2 standards. This senior consulting position requires extensive hands-on expertise in testing methodologies and technologies. The role is hybrid, requiring 2-3 days onsite per week in London.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect, design, and maintain robust, scalable test automation frameworks using Selenium and Cucumber.
- Lead the implementation of accessibility testing strategies, ensuring full compliance with WCAG 2.2 standards across all applications.
- Conduct functional, non-functional, integration, and end-to-end testing across the full technology stack.
- Collaborate closely with Development, Architecture, and Product teams to drive quality throughout the SDLC.
Key Skills:
- Expert proficiency with Selenium and Cucumber (or similar BDD tools).
- Direct, demonstrable experience testing against WCAG 2.2 standards.
- Practical experience using assistive technologies such as JAWS and/or Dragon.
- Deep experience with mocking and stubbing using Mockito (or similar frameworks).
- Active BPSS Clearance is a mandatory prerequisite.
- Experience integrating tests within the AWS stack.
- Proven experience testing applications built on both React (Front End) and Node JS (Back End) services.
- Experience testing Microservices architecture and utilizing Swagger for API documentation.
- Proficiency with Git for version control and CI/CD integration.
