Test Engineer (SC Cleared or SC Eligible) - 6 months - Inside IR35 - Hybrid

Summary: A global transformation consultancy is seeking a Test Engineer with active SC clearance or eligibility for a 6-month contract, likely to extend. The role is hybrid, requiring 1-2 days on-site in Leeds, and is classified as inside IR35. Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium (Java and Maven), Cypress, Playwright, or similar frameworks.
• Support test planning activities by identifying suitable test cases for automation and recommending effective testing strategies.
• Execute automated tests, analyse results, and report defects with clear and concise documentation for development teams.
• Investigate test failures, collaborate with developers to resolve issues, and enhance test reliability and coverage.
• Operate within a complex, multi-disciplinary environment, leading testing efforts and liaising with various stakeholders across the delivery life cycle.

Key Skills:

• Strong hands-on experience with Selenium automation testing using Java and Maven.
• Proficient in API testing, both manually using Postman or Insomnia, and via automation using Java with Rest Assured.
• Working knowledge of JavaScript-based test frameworks such as Cypress and Playwright.
• Familiarity with Docker and integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or GitLab.
• Solid experience working with BDD/TDD frameworks, including Cucumber, TestNG, and JUnit.
• Exposure to performance testing tools such as JMeter.
• Experience operating in Agile environments, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Understanding of accessibility testing standards (WCAG), using tools like axe, WAVE, or ARC.
