Summary: The Test Engineer role involves conducting tests on materials and prototype products, collaborating with Project Engineers and global NPI teams. The position requires the analysis and communication of test results through summary and bench test reports. The engineer will also be responsible for writing protocols and work instructions while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. A background in medical R&D and experience in an R&D laboratory environment is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support NTIs by undertaking testing of materials and concepts in collaboration with Project Engineers.
- Analyse, interpret and communicate results in summary test reports.
- Support NPIs by undertaking bench testing of prototype products with global NPI teams.
- Write protocols, work instructions, and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with other departments regarding test results.
- Learn and apply departmental processes, procedures, and equipment consistently.
- Understand quality systems and ensure compliance with PPE requirements.
- Work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Maintain excellent attention to detail and follow instructions precisely.
Key Skills:
- Basic IT skills (e.g., MS Word, Excel).
- Good communication skills at all levels.
- Ability to work in a changing and dynamic environment.
- Previous experience in a medical R&D environment is an advantage.
- 12+ months experience in an R&D laboratory environment preferred.
- Engineering or R&D lab background preferred.
