Test Engineer

Summary: We are seeking skilled Automated Testers to join a high-performing delivery team in Newcastle. This role involves contributing to large-scale digital transformation projects and ensuring software products meet high-quality standards through effective automation. The position requires hands-on testing and collaboration within Agile teams to enhance software delivery. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in test automation and programming, particularly in Java and BDD frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites using Java, Cucumber, and Spring
• Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines to support continuous integration and automated testing
• Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary Agile teams to ensure high-quality software delivery
• Identify, document, and track defects, ensuring effective communication and timely resolution
• Perform integration, API, and regression testing to validate functionality and performance
• Contribute to the improvement of testing practices, frameworks, and processes across projects

Key Skills:

• Proven experience in test automation within Agile or DevOps delivery environments
• Strong programming skills in Java and experience with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber
• Understanding of Spring frameworks and AWS environments
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar
• Good knowledge of API testing (eg, REST Assured, Postman)
• Familiarity with version control systems (eg, Git)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
