We are looking for an experienced Test Engineer with a strong background in testing Commercial Tools to join a leading client in London.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality, performance, and reliability of commercial applications through comprehensive testing strategies and close collaboration with cross-functional teams.
This is a hybrid role based in London and falls Inside IR35.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
- Perform functional, integration, regression, system, and end-to-end testing.
- Validate Commercial Tools and business-critical applications to ensure they meet business and technical requirements.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts, Developers, Product Owners, and stakeholders throughout the SDLC.
- Identify, document, track, and verify software defects using defect management tools.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and sprint reviews.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities and production releases.
- Ensure software quality by implementing best testing practices and quality standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for QA processes and automation where applicable.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of Software Testing experience.
- Strong experience testing Commercial Tools/Commercial Systems.
- Hands-on experience with: Functional Testing, Regression Testing, Integration Testing, System Testing, End-to-End Testing, UAT Support.
- Experience working within Agile/Scrum environments.
- Strong knowledge of defect tracking tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
- Experience with SQL for data validation and backend testing.
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress.
- API testing experience using Postman or Rest Assured.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of Azure DevOps, Git, or Jenkins.
- Experience working within highly regulated industries such as Financial Services, Insurance, Telecom, or Retail.
- ISTQB Foundation or Advanced Certification.
