Summary: The role of Test Engineer involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the quality of medical devices through rigorous testing and validation processes. The position requires a strong background in testing medical-grade hardware and software, with a focus on automation and compliance with regulatory standards. The role is based in London and requires a hybrid working arrangement with significant on-site presence. This is an inside IR35 contract for an initial duration of three months.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with cross-functional team members to refine acceptance criteria and ensure quality standards are met.
  • Collaborate with developers for continuous verification and validation of acceptance criteria through automated tests.
  • Conduct risk-driven exploratory testing for stories and release candidates.
  • Measure product quality against goals and highlight risks.
  • Prepare and maintain test reports and quality metrics for stakeholders.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by developing guidelines and knowledge sharing.

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience testing medical grade hardware and full-stack software.
  • Strong programming skills in test automation (preferably Python and Kotlin).
  • Experience with virtualization, Linux, and remote device management.
  • Knowledge of medical device regulations (ISO 13485, IEC 62304, 21 CFR 820).
  • BS/MS in Computer, Electrical, Electronics Engineering or equivalent experience (nice to have).
  • Advanced certification in software testing and quality engineering practices (nice to have).
  • Knowledge of video encoding/codecs and related tools (nice to have).
  • Experience with Cloud (AWS) and DevOps tools for CI testing (nice to have).
