Summary: We are looking for skilled Test Engineers to join our team in Chertsey for the development and testing of VLF communication products. Candidates must have experience in electronics or communications systems and hold active SC clearance. The role involves executing testing, developing test plans, and collaborating with design teams to resolve issues. Proficiency in both manual and automated testing is essential for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute functional and system-level testing of VLF communication products.
- Develop and maintain test plans, procedures, and reports.
- Work closely with design and development teams to identify, reproduce, and resolve issues.
- Perform both manual and automated testing to validate performance and compliance.
- Assist in setting up and maintaining test environments, including RF test setups.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
- Provide clear and concise defect reports and assist in troubleshooting.
- Support integration, verification, and validation activities as needed.
Key Skills:
- Active SC Clearance (mandatory – candidates without this will not be considered).
- Proven experience in a test engineering role, ideally in a defence or secure communications environment.
- Familiarity with VLF / RF systems and test methodologies.
- Strong understanding of electronics, signal processing, or communication protocols.
- Proficiency in using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers, signal generators, etc.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and schematics.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong documentation and communication abilities.
- Experience with automated testing tools or scripting (e.g. Python, LabVIEW, MATLAB) is desirable.
- Background in military or secure communications systems is desirable.
- Knowledge of EMC, safety, or environmental testing standards is desirable.
