HCD Research Ltd specialises in the design and manufacture of high-quality time and frequency electronic products used for position, navigation and timing (PNT) applications which are sold worldwide. It is based in Burgess Hill, West Sussex. The company requires, due to expansion, a test and development engineer. This role is based at the company’s premises in Burgess Hill and would suit an electronic engineer with testing experience. This is a permanent role and training would be provided. You will be testing electronic products as part of the production process prior to despatch to the customer. As a Test Engineer, you will also be involved in the development of new sub-systems and products. This is a varied role with the opportunity to become involved in the production and development of products in a growing area of electronics.

The role

Required Experience And Skills

  • Background in electronics.
  • Minimum requirement HNC/HND in electronics but electronics degree preferred.
  • Ability to carry out and clearly document tests on electronic circuits including identification of possible causes of failure of a circuit to perform to specification.
  • Experience in the use of typical electronic laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, multi meters and RF instruments.
  • Understanding of CAD tools to navigate systems and interpret design files.
  • Experience in working with SMD electronic components and basic soldering skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of software.
