Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead validation activities for new products and systems, ensuring designs are fit for purpose and testing is completed within agreed timescales
  • Collaborate with design teams to develop and manage plans
  • Conduct physical and mechanical testing, accurately reporting results against defined criteria
  • Ensure compliance with relevant local and international standards, as well as internal technical specifications
  • Maintain and calibrate test equipment and facilities, ensuring safe and efficient operation
  • Document all testing activities and maintain up-to-date records for management review
  • Develop a suite of standardised tests for use across product lines
  • Liaise with external test facilities when additional capabilities are required
  • Work cross-functionally with design, manufacturing, purchasing, and marketing teams
  • Identify future testing needs and support the development of new capabilities
  • Maintain professional development through ongoing training

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (alternative qualifications or extensive industry experience will be considered)
  • Proven industrial experience in component or systems testing within a mechanical environment
  • Strong technical report writing and project planning skills

  • Flexible and enthusiastic team player with a proactive attitude
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Willingness to travel between sites and stay overnight for proving ground testing
