Summary: The Test Design Support Engineer role involves acting as a liaison between design and manufacturing teams within the national security industry, focusing on advanced missile programs and subsystems. The position requires a blend of engineering expertise and communication skills to support product design and manufacturing processes. Candidates will engage in a dynamic environment that promotes personal growth and development. This is a six-month contract role based in Bolton, requiring SC clearance and classified as inside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the interface between design and manufacturing teams.
- Provide knowledge and support to design teams during the manufacturing phase.
- Work on advanced missile programs and subsystems, as well as launcher assemblies.
- Lead delivery of work assignments and engage with stakeholders.
- Manage discreet work packages, prepare bids, and control costs.
- Investigate design-related issues and propose corrective actions.
- Prepare clear and concise engineering documentation.
Key Skills:
- Degree qualified or equivalent industry experience in product/system design.
- Experience in digital and analogue electronics, power electronics, RF & antenna, interconnects, safety electronics, test systems, schematic design, and PCB design.
- Excellent verbal communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team and autonomously.
- Experience in supporting manufacturing and resolving issues is advantageous.
- Strong investigative skills for root cause analysis.
- Record of on-time delivery and effective communication skills.
