Summary: The Test Design Support Engineer role at a leading Defence organization in Bolton involves acting as a liaison between design and manufacturing teams, primarily focusing on advanced missile programs and subsystems. Candidates will support production activities and contribute to the design of products and test equipment, ensuring effective communication and collaboration within a multi-disciplinary environment. The position offers significant engineering challenges and opportunities for personal growth in electronics. Current SC Clearance is preferred, or candidates must be eligible to obtain it.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the interface between design teams and manufacturing teams.
- Support production activities and contribute to product and test equipment design.
- Work on advanced module missile programs and other unique opportunities.
- Manage discreet work packages, prepare bids, and control costs.
- Engage with stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of outputs.
- Investigate root causes of design-related issues and propose corrective actions.
- Deliver work assignments autonomously when needed.
Key Skills:
- Degree qualified or equivalent industry experience in product/system design.
- Experience in digital and analogue electronics, power electronics, RF & antenna, interconnects, safety electronics, test systems, schematic design, and PCB design.
- Excellent verbal communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Ability to write clear and concise engineering documentation.
- Experience working within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Passion for innovation and collaboration.
- Experience in supporting manufacturing and resolving manufacturing issues is advantageous.
- Strong investigative skills for identifying root causes of design issues.
- Record of on-time delivery and good communication skills.
Salary (Rate): £65/hour
