Summary: The Validation Engineer role focuses on managing and executing validation and endurance tests on engine systems, ensuring high-quality product delivery. The position requires hands-on experience with engine testing and problem-solving, alongside technical knowledge in data analysis and documentation. The engineer will collaborate with various teams to achieve product and technical objectives across a range of engine sizes. This role is based in Peterborough and operates within an inside IR35 framework.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create detailed test planning, execution of testing activities, analysis of results, and documentation with clear recommendations for the relevant process partners.
- Carry out complex engine validation tests.
- Evaluate products and processes; perform needs analysis and initiate ideas.
- Keep up to date on new technologies or develop new technologies.
- Communicate technical information to a range of stakeholders.
- Support and advise other engineers, managers, marketing personnel, dealers, customers, and suppliers; develop and maintain keen understanding of internal and external customers’ needs.
Key Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in an accredited Engineering curriculum.
- Excellent interpersonal skills (coaching, communication, teamwork).
- Excellent problem solver.
- Self-motivated and able to deliver with minimum supervision.

JOB PURPOSE:
The Validation team is responsible for managing and executing validation and endurance tests on engine systems. The team applies deep technical knowledge to data analysis, review and sign off tests, converting data into decisions to ensure our product recipe is of the highest quality and delivered on time. This is a highly visible team that works directly with all areas of engineering and will, at times report directly into our product groups.
Job Responsibilities and Duties:
As a Validation Engineer, you will report to the Validation Engineering Manager. You will have responsibility for conducting testing on validation test beds to sign-off components and working on our 1.7l to 7.1l range of engines. You will be accountable for process excellence, maintaining engineering best practices and documentation. You will work closely with the L4 engineering teams to define & deliver robust methods in achieving the Product Objectives and Technical Objectives (PO’s/TO’s) within the IPSD-M product range. You will also work closely with the GED Test operations team to ensure quality data is achieved.
