Summary: The Test Automation Engineer role focuses on developing and designing test automation frameworks using Playwright with Typescript or JavaScript, primarily for the financial services sector. The position is mostly remote, requiring one day per month in the Berkshire office and occasional client visits. The ideal candidate will have experience in API automation and CI tools, contributing to various projects within a consultancy environment. This is a 6-month fixed-term contract with an immediate start date.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create test automation frameworks from scratch using Playwright and JavaScript or Typescript.
- Design API automation solutions.
- Develop CI Test Pipeline and maintain CI tools such as MS Azure, Jenkins, GitHub Actions.
- Work with version control tools like GIT, GitHub, Bitbucket, and Azure Repos.
- Establish and uphold coding standards for automation tools and processes.
- Participate in the continuous improvement of the Quality Engineering process.
- Create and maintain code and documentation for project work.
- Provide regular status updates and reports on testing progress to the Test Manager and stakeholders.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience in creating test automation frameworks using Playwright.
- Experience with JavaScript or Typescript.
- API automation experience.
- Knowledge of CI tools such as MS Azure, Jenkins, GitHub Actions.
- Familiarity with version control tools like GIT, GitHub, Bitbucket, and Azure Repos.
- Ability to establish coding standards for automation.
- Strong documentation skills.
- Excellent communication skills for client presentations and demos.

The organisation has a reputation for providing high calibre software testing services within the financial services sector. We are in the market for a Test Automation Engineer with previous experience of designing and developing test automation frameworks in Playwright using either Typescript or JavaScript. We also require someone with good API automation experience and we are open to various tools and programming languages. The ideal candidate will be keen to progress their career in a consulting environment, where they can contribute to multiple projects, using a range of tools and technologies.
You will be responsible for supporting the consultancy on test automation proof of concepts as well as presenting and demoing solutions to clients. We are looking for a candidate with the following experience; Proven experience and ability to create test automation frameworks from scratch using Playwright and JavaScript or Typescript. Experience of designing API automation solutions Develop CI Test Pipeline on the creation, maintenance, and improvement of CI tools such as MS Azure, Jenkins, GitHub Actions. Experience working with version control tools like GIT, GIT hub, Bitbucket and Azure Repos. Establish and uphold coding standards for automation tools and processes. This position is being offered on a 6-month fixed-term contract basis (possible extension or permanent employment options) and offers a salary of up to £50,000/annum. This is an immediate opening and require someone to start asap. *Must hold British passport or ILR due to background checking process. No Visa sponsorship available.
