Summary: We are looking for a Test & Automation Engineer to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract, focusing on enhancing our quality engineering capabilities and automation processes within the insurance software sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in QA and automation, with the ability to implement scalable frameworks and drive improvements in quality and release velocity. This role involves collaboration with engineering, product, and DevOps teams to integrate automation throughout the development lifecycle. Candidates should thrive in delivery-focused environments and possess a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks (UI, API, integration)
- Increase automated test coverage and reduce regression risk
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
- Develop and execute structured test plans aligned to product releases
- Perform root cause analysis and support defect resolution
- Collaborate cross-functionally to embed quality best practices
- Identify process improvements to increase efficiency and reliability
- Provide clear reporting on test coverage, quality metrics, and risk
Key Skills:
- 3+ years’ experience in QA, Test Engineering, or Automation Engineering
- Strong hands-on experience with automation tools (Cypress, Jenkins)
- Experience testing APIs (Postman, REST Assured, or similar)
- Programming experience (Java, JavaScript)
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Bitbucket CI/CD)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and deliver impact quickly
- Experience in Agile/Scrum environments
- Performance testing experience (JMeter, k6, etc.)
- Experience with Docker and containerized environments
- Exposure to Azure
- Knowledge of security testing practices
- ISTQB certification
