Summary: The Test Automation Engineer will play a pivotal role in a high-profile Government body, focusing on automation testing within a busy Test Team. This position involves leading testing initiatives, developing automated test scripts, and integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines. The role requires collaboration with Agile Development Teams to enhance testing strategies and processes. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract based in Brighton, requiring 1-2 days a week on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and peer-review the work of other test team members.
- Conduct investigative work into problems and opportunities in existing processes.
- Contribute to the test strategy team and advise on automation testing with recommendations for improvement.
- Develop the product and development teams' approach to testing, including frameworks for test-driven development.
- Design and develop automated test scripts focusing on SQL-based data validation.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
- Be responsible for the automation testing delivery within the Platform team.
- Demonstrate knowledge of emerging tools and techniques.
- Effectively work across different tools and software languages.
Key Skills:
- 5+ years of automation and manual testing experience of web-based applications.
- Knowledge and experience with Playwright and ReqnRoll / Specflow.
- Proficient in C#.Net and SQL Server.
- Experience in crafting automation tests and demonstrating test frameworks and pipelines.
- Familiarity with RESTful services, Message Queues, and Relational Databases.
- Proficient in SQL scripting and writing sophisticated queries.
- Experience with a range of testing methodologies and techniques, including agile.
- Ability to write test procedures, plans, and report development/implementation.
