Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, design, script, and execute tests for system, system integration, user acceptance, and implementation testing.

- Contribute to status reports for testing responsibilities.
- Identify and highlight risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies.
- Work closely with technical and business staff involved in projects.
- Liaise with team members in multi-disciplinary project teams for knowledge transfer and testing input.
- Provide technical expertise in meetings with software/hardware suppliers and external organizations.
- Input to progress reports and contribute specialist knowledge to the test manager.
- Manage and prioritize personal workload of testing tasks within agreed timescales.
- Monitor progress against milestones and take remedial action for slippage.
- Develop and carry out quality assurance testing on software, working under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Contribute to projects according to established project methodology, standards, and guidelines.
- Respond to changing requirement specifications and advise on impact on workload and deadlines.
- Provide specialist technical input to resolve complex or critical support issues.

Venesky-Brown’s client in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Test Analyst for as soon as possible until the 18th of December 2025 on a rate of £450/day (Inside IR35). This role will be hybrid working with at least 2 days per week in the office.
Responsibilities:
- Based on analysis of the requirements, the design and business processes: plan, design, script and execute tests for system, system integration, user acceptance and implementation testing as required.
- Identify and lodge defects, and conduct any re-testing required.
- Build and maintain relationships to ensure effective on-going stakeholder engagement with projects, and support business areas with user acceptance testing.
- Contribute to status reports for the testing they are responsible for.
- Identification and highlighting of risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies.
- Working closely with staff from across the organisation, both technical and business, who are involved in projects.
- Liaising with other team members as part of multi-disciplinary project teams as required, ensuring knowledge transfer and providing input and advice on testing.
- Providing technical expertise in meetings with software and/or hardware suppliers, and with external organisations.
- Providing input to progress reports and contributing specialist knowledge to the test Manager.
- Managing and prioritising personal workload of testing tasks, often working with minimum supervision, within agreed timescales to ensure project deadlines are met.
- Monitor progress against agreed milestones and, in consultation with the test lead, take remedial action to address slippage.
- Some duties may be urgent and reactive, e.g. providing technical assistance to solve critical project/service issues.
- Develop and carry out quality assurance testing on software, working either individually or as part of a wider multi-disciplinary project team, typically working under pressure to meet business deadlines.
- Contributing to projects in a range of different areas in accordance with established project methodology, standards and guidelines, e.g. peer testing, supporting the resolution of business and design issues, providing detailed task estimates as part of agreed estimation process.
- Responding to changing requirement specifications advising of likely impact on workload and deadlines.
- Providing specialist technical input to resolve technically complex or critical support issues when required.
