Key Responsibilities:
- Create detailed test scripts based on user stories/release notes.
- Organize and host defect triage calls with stakeholders.
- Report on test progress and ensure compliance with testing methodologies.
- Execute and record integration testing for Mobile App, Web, and Desktop applications.
- Prepare testing deliverables for review by peers and Test Lead/Manager.
- Work as part of the Testing Team and adopt new practices.
Key Skills:
- Knowledge of structured test methods and processes in SDLC.
- Proven experience in Retail/e-commerce POS testing in an Agile environment.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with Test Management Tools (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps).
- Excellent communication skills.
- Demonstrable experience in testing responsive websites and mobile applications.
- ISTQB qualification preferable.
- IT or similar degree preferable.

Test Analyst
We have an exciting opportunity for a Test Analyst to join our award-winning Business Change and Technology team on a 6 month Fixed term contract . Reporting into the Test Lead you will create detailed test scripts covering positive and negative scenarios based on user stories/release notes. You’ll have exposure and involvement in the project delivery lifecycle test activities supported by the Test Lead. In this role you will organise and host defect triage calls with relevant stakeholders as well as report on test progress. This role will involve a mixture of office and home working, with our Head Office based in Birmingham City Centre.

What you’ll be do as our Test Analyst… Fully understand and comply with the Mitchells & Butlers Testing Methodology and Processes Responsible for ensuring that all assigned Integration testing for Mobile App, Web and Desktop applications is executed, recorded and evidence stored to allow sign off within the agreed framework to be completed Day to day working as part of the Testing Team Ability and willingness to adopt new practices and learn new skills Carry out appropriate release testing tasks as scheduled Prepare Testing Deliverables for review by Peers and Test Lead/Manager
What you’ll need to bring to this Test Analyst role… Knowledge of structured test methods and processes as part of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Proven experience of Retail / e-commerce POS testing in an Agile Testing environment Strong analytical skills Preferable but not required knowledge of technologies used within the Mitchells & Butlers estate (Aztec, SWS, iServe etc.) Meticulous and high attention to detail Understanding and appreciation of Time Management Ability to work on own initiative and within a team Preparing concise and accurate test documentation Proven experience of Test Management Tools e.g. JIRA, Azure DevOps Excellent communication skills Demonstrable experience of testing a wide range of responsive websites and mobile applications, with sound understanding of test processes Experience of working within an Agile (or similar) environment / working with Agile software development processes (SCRUM, Kanban) and tools would be preferred.
