Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the core development team to understand technical changes and determine test scope.
- Assess the adequacy of technical testing and propose risk mitigation strategies.
- Impact assess technical changes on the business and across the Bank.
- Provide test risk management, risk assessment, and change triage.
- Perform testing of large scale group policy changes affecting the UK platform.
- Conduct data/database testing using Dynamic SQL and perform data reconciliation.
- Maintain and update SQL stored procedures.
- Execute functional, non-functional, smoke, regression, and exploratory testing using SQL.
- Perform manual testing of programs via core ‘green screens’.
- Create test artefacts for planning, traceability, and sign off.
- Develop and maintain automated/manual tests.
- Conduct system integration, regression, and acceptance testing.
- Ensure testing adheres to the bank’s governance standards and frameworks.
- Participate actively in team meetings and test forums.
- Contribute to Agile ceremonies and practices such as BDD/TDD.
Key Skills:
- Demonstrable SQL experience in core banking systems.
- Experience in test planning, strategy, and approach.
- Longstanding database testing experience using SQL.
- Core UK banking (IBM green screen) testing experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to act with courage and integrity.
- Experience working in Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
- Knowledge of BDD/TDD practices.
- ISTQB certification.
- Experience with AS400 iSeries i5.

Test Analyst - Core Banking Modernisation - SQL - Agile
Ideal contract role for Test Analyst with demonstrable SQL experience in core banking systems. Experience of test planning, the ability to develop a test strategy and test approach, particularly tailored to individual releases, will also be essential. As the UK Bank becomes accustomed to more agile ways of working, it is also important that the successful candidate is very familiar with agile concepts and has proven experience of one or more agile methodologies and /or frameworks. This role will play a key part in the UK Bank’s digital transformation journey, whilst also making a real difference to the needs and experience of its customers.
Main Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the core development team to understand the nature of disparate technical changes, to identify business risks, and to determine test scope.
- Understand and assess the adequacy of any core team technical testing and propose further risk mitigation.
- Be able to impact assess technical changes on the business and across the entire Bank.
- Provide test risk management, risk assessment and change triage without detriment to business requirements.
- Perform testing of large scale group policy changes that will affect the entire UK platform.
- Perform data / database testing utilising Dynamic SQL, validating objects, interrogating database statistics and performing large scale data reconciliation.
- Maintain and update SQL stored procedures.
- Functional, Non-functional, Smoke, Regression and Exploratory testing using SQL.
- Manual testing of programs / changes that are called via core ‘green screens’.
- Create test artefacts as required for test planning, traceability and sign off
- Develop and maintain Automated/Manual Tests.
