Summary: The Temporary Group Accountant role at Ballyvesey Holdings involves assisting with the preparation of monthly accounts and maintenance of balance sheet accounts. The position requires collaboration with the Group Financial Controller and external auditors, as well as preparation of annual budgets and statutory accounts. This is a six-month contract based in Belfast, focusing on delivering high-quality financial reporting and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with preparation of head office monthly accounts including Income statement, Balance Sheet, fixed assets register and monthly analysis.
  • Maintenance of balance sheet accounts including fixed assets, accruals and prepayments and reconciliations.
  • Assist with group reporting and group returns.
  • Assist in preparation of annual budgets for head office and consolidated budgets for the group.
  • Assist the Group Financial Controller with management of Group Audit process.
  • Preparation of year-end Accounts/Audit Packs.
  • Liaison with external auditors.
  • Assisting with preparation of statutory accounts.
  • Preparation and posting of relevant journals.
  • Review of balance sheet reconciliations.

Key Skills:

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent understanding of accounting processes and the need for appropriate controls.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to deliver high quality work within strict time frames.
  • Proven ability to prepare monthly management accounts.
  • Knowledge of Accounting ledger systems – preferably experience of Sage.
  • Flexible in adapting to varied workloads.

Temporary Group Accountant 6 months – Belfast - £45k-£55k pro rata Ballyvesey Holdings is the privately owned parent company of a wide range of trading subsidiaries. Established in 1970, the group’s main activities are centered around commercial vehicles in transport and logistics, vehicle rental, truck and van sales, aftersales support and maintenance, trailer manufacturing and spare parts sales, transport industry services, construction equipment sales and rental, and property development. Ballyesey Holdings are now recruiting for a Temporary Group Accountant to join our professional team in Belfast.
