Summary: The role of Temporary Buyer involves coordinating procurement activities within a cross-functional team, focusing on supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management, particularly in the Oil and Gas or heavy industry sectors. Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate bidders' queries and select successful suppliers.
- Negotiate discounts and advantageous terms with key suppliers.
- Prepare and organize Procurement meetings.
- Manage Commercial Bid Tabs and make commercial recommendations.
- Prepare and maintain Purchase Orders.
- Establish Framework/Supplier Agreements where possible.
- Work with the Project team to manage key suppliers and improve performance.
- Expedite orders and proactively propose solutions to issues.
- Contribute to the Company's Procurement KPIs.
- Support the Procurement Manager with contract terminations, claims, and disputes.
- Assist in the invoice approval process.
- Conduct closeout reviews of supplier performance.
- Support the logistics team.
- Undertake additional duties as required in line with company objectives.
- Ensure adherence to Health and Safety policies and procedures.

Our client is seeking an experienced Buyer with previous project procurement experience for this contract role which potentially can be made permanent. You will preferably have Oil and Gas or heavy industry experience.
Job Role
- Work in a cross functional team to coordinate bidders' queries and select the successful supplier.
- Negotiation with key suppliers for discounts, savings and advantageous terms with selected suppliers.
- Prepare and organise Procurement meetings.
- Responsible for Commercial Bid Tabs and commercial recommendations.
- Prepare and maintain Purchase Orders.
- Where possible establish Framework/Supplier Agreements
- Work with the Project team in the management of key suppliers, ensuring performance improvement and risk mitigation.
- Expedite orders and have the skills at identifying issues and proactively propose solutions.
- Contribute to the Company's Procurement KPIs.
- As required, support in the Procurement Manager with contract terminations, claims and disputes.
- Support the invoice approval process.
- Conduct a closeout review/score card of the order/supplier's performance.
- Support the logistic team.
