Summary: The Temporary Accommodation Recovery Officer role involves managing sign-ups for temporary accommodation placements, ensuring compliance with housing benefit requirements, and conducting suitability assessments. The position requires collaboration with various departments to ensure effective management of temporary accommodation. Experience in temporary accommodation placement or management is essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct sign-ups for existing temporary accommodation placements, ensuring completion of housing benefit forms and license agreements.
- Ensure NEC and Jigsaw reflect current temporary accommodation placements under the correct duty.
- Conduct suitability assessments on current temporary accommodation placements.
- Discharge s.188/s.193 duties where appropriate.
- Work closely with housing demand, welfare and benefits, and temporary accommodation income.
- Apply knowledge of safeguarding principles in practice.
Key Skills:
- Experience in temporary accommodation placement and/or management.
- Knowledge of housing benefit processes.
- Understanding of safeguarding principles.
- Ability to conduct suitability assessments.
- Strong collaboration skills with various departments.
