Summary: The role of a temporary Buyer at a well-established FMCG company involves managing procurement processes for packaging, products, and services. The position requires strategic planning, strong supplier relationship management, and effective negotiation skills. The contract duration is between 3 to 6 months, and the role is office-based in Mid Kent. The ideal candidate should have prior purchasing experience, particularly in the manufacturing or food sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop supplier relationships and ongoing negotiations
- Raising, placing and tracking purchase orders
- Extensive monitoring of stock levels, order progressions and usage to ensure material is available when required
- Purchasing packaging/ingredients
- Monitoring and maintaining inventory levels
- Other projects and such tasks as and when required
Key Skills:
- Proven experience in the FMCG industry
- CIPS qualification (desirable not essential)
- Strong Excel skills
- An excellent communicator with first-rate interpersonal skills
- High attention to detail
