Summary: The Telematics Unit Project Design Engineer role involves implementing on-board telematics systems for vehicles, managing supplier relationships, and coordinating validation processes to ensure compliance with design standards. This position is integral to the development of innovative automotive technology at a leading technical centre in Europe. Candidates should possess relevant experience in telematics and vehicle connectivity, along with strong problem-solving and communication skills. Key Responsibilities:
- Implement on-board telematics systems for vehicles manufactured in Europe for global markets.
- Generate and release TCU configuration data for European vehicles.
- Manage Tier 1 suppliers to deliver products to Quality, Cost & Timing targets.
- Coordinate in-house and supplier TCU validation to company design standards ahead of new software releases.
- Collaborate with Off Board Connected Car test teams to confirm system performance for remote commands.
- Project manage cross carline projects for both on-board and off-board connected car and infotainment teams.
Key Skills:
- Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
- Experience with telematics hardware, systems, and knowledge of vehicle connectivity.
- Proficiency in Office 365 tools, including Excel to intermediate/advanced level.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a solid mathematical understanding.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
