Summary: The Care Technology Officer (Telecare) role involves delivering, installing, and maintaining care technology solutions to support residents in Wandsworth and Richmond Boroughs. This temporary position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure effective use of technology in promoting independent living. The officer will also provide training and support to staff while managing user records and equipment maintenance. A proactive approach to enhancing community services through technology is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct care technology assessments, installations, and risk assessments across the two boroughs.
- Promote the use of care technology solutions among staff, health partners, care providers, and voluntary sector partners.
- Represent the councils at relevant events.
- Review installations with service users, families, and professionals to ensure equipment meets outcomes.
- Perform maintenance on installed care technology equipment and coordinate repairs or replacements.
- Provide training to frontline social care staff and participate in team meetings.
- Deliver induction training for new staff in the Joint Control Room regarding care technology offerings.
- Maintain knowledge of community services to help reduce digital exclusion.
- Address stakeholder and resident inquiries about equipment issues.
- Monitor auto tests and daily/weekly reports to identify and respond to problems.
- Manage care technology user records on the Council's Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC).
- Oversee stock control systems and equipment ordering processes.
- Stay updated on the latest developments in care technology.
- Build and maintain relationships with staff, suppliers, and end users.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of services within Wandsworth and Richmond.
- Comply with relevant Codes of Practise, including data protection and health and safety policies.
- Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion.
- Understand the Councils' safeguarding responsibilities as they apply to this role.
- Be prepared to undertake additional reasonable duties as required.
Key Skills:
- Recent experience in the installation and maintenance of care technology and telecare equipment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Technical proficiency in care equipment and alarm receiving centre systems.
- Knowledge of the Mosaic system for managing referrals and documentation related to care technology.
