Summary: The Technology Vendor Manager role involves overseeing and managing the technology vendor landscape for a leading financial services market infrastructure company. The position requires collaboration with the Director of Strategic Vendor Management to ensure optimal performance and compliance across key technology suppliers. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing vendor relationships and driving value for money through effective contract management and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage key strategic vendors, driving service excellence, accountability, and value for money across contracts and engagements.
  • Implement and supervise multiple high-value deals and third-party contracts, ensuring alignment to commercial and strategic goals.
  • Lead end-to-end contract management, covering the full contract lifecycle, key escalations, strategic planning, and governance.
  • Execute the vendor operating model effectively across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Efficiently manage multiple budgets and spend portfolios across business functions.
  • Challenge, validate, and audit commercial proposals to ensure optimal commercial outcomes.
  • Support internal stakeholders and business units, maintaining strong vendor/customer relationships.
  • Continuously motivate third-party vendors to embed a “one team” culture and promote productivity.
  • Own and manage service improvement initiatives that support evolving business strategies.
  • Complete ongoing contract analysis and process reviews to improve contract effectiveness and performance.
  • Proactively review contract terms and coordinate renewals and actions on expiring deals.
  • Administer contractual changes, audit compliance, and ensure adherence to internal business policies.
  • Drive vendor performance monitoring, reporting, and tracking of KPIs, ensuring all metrics are fit for purpose and accurate.
  • Monitor and evaluate both supplier and business risks, escalating in accordance with policy and agreed timelines.

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience in vendor management, preferably within technology, infrastructure, or IT service environments.
  • Strong understanding of contract lifecycle management, procurement processes, and third-party governance models.
  • Demonstrated success in managing strategic vendor relationships, with a focus on service delivery and cost control.
  • Experience managing and optimizing multi-functional budgets and ensuring financial transparency.
  • Skilled in negotiation, contract interpretation, and commercial analysis.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and challenge constructively.
