Summary: The Technology Transformation Manager at S&W will lead transformational change through technology within the tax practice, managing complex tax programmes from initiation to integration. This role requires planning, coordination, and effective governance to align technology objectives with business goals. The successful candidate will work closely with teams to implement innovative solutions and foster a culture of continuous improvement. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract based in either Birmingham or Bristol.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive transformational change through technology in S&W’s tax practice.
  • Maintain projects through delivery phases, transitioning into service.
  • Lead teams through different phases of the delivery lifecycle.
  • Manage dependencies and interdependencies across teams to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Collaborate with the Lab for digital and AI innovation to create solutions through experimentation.
  • Build successful teams by understanding team dynamics and providing constructive feedback.

Key Skills:

  • Experience in building influential relationships with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Expertise in coaching and leading teams in Agile and Lean practices.
  • Broad business understanding with deep knowledge of technical strategy and Microsoft products.
  • Experience shaping change roadmaps in collaboration with Department and Function Leads.
  • Track record of successful implementation of digital transformational projects.
  • Previous experience in a Professional Services firm, preferably in accounting with knowledge of tax work (desired).

Job Description What will you be doing? We are seeking an experienced Technology Transformation Manager to join our Digital Technology Solutions team and accelerate our capabilities to deliver the underpinning technology to enable our business ambitions. The successful candidate will plan, direct and co-ordinate activities to manage and implement complex tax programmes from contract/proposal initiation to full integration with "business as usual". Programme involves the alignment of technology programme objectives with business objectives and authorising the selection and planning of related projects and activities. Here you will plan, schedule, monitor and report on activities, uptake and financials related to the programme, ensuring that there are appropriate and effective governance arrangements, supported by comprehensive reporting and communication with senior stakeholders. You’ll also be required to manage the transition into run from the programme. This role will suit ambitious individuals who want to advance their careers in a dynamic change environment. For the right individual with a passion for new technology, this role will provide direct experience of how technology can transform business operations and create innovative, AI enabled client services. This is a Fixed Term Contract role for 12 months to be based at our Birmingham office. We will also consider applications to be based at our Bristol office.

As a Technology Transformation Manager, your responsibilities will include among others, Play a lead role in driving transformational change through technology in S&W’s tax practice, through building relationships and providing the required support and training to your team Maintain a project through the delivery phases, implementing to live and transitioning into service Able to lead a team through the different phases of the delivery lifecycle Understand the different phases of product delivery and can contribute to, plan or run these Work independently to manage various dependencies and interdependencies across teams and departments as a whole to ensure that projects are delivered on time Working closely with our Lab for digital and AI innovation, helping plan and create the solutions through iterative experimentation and testing Contributing to the work of the community, building successful teams through understanding team styles and influencing as well as motivating team members. Giving and receiving constructive feedback, facilitating the feedback loop

Qualifications Skills and Experience To be successful in this role, you should have, Fostered and initiated influential relationships with internal customers, suppliers and stakeholders at senior management level, including industry leaders Experience in coaching and leading teams in Agile and Lean practices - being a recognised expert that advocates these approaches, continuously reflecting and challenging the team Have a broad business understanding and deep understanding of technical strategy, cloud optimisation and Microsoft products and services in particular MS Power Platforms Worked with Department and Function Leads to shape the change roadmap, shaping the future projects required to deliver against their strategic roadmaps Engages with all colleagues and teams involved in the delivery of change, promoting a culture of continuous improvement within change delivery Have a demonstrated track record of successful implementation of digital transformational projects with proven benefits for businesses Desired: Previous experience in a Professional Services firm, preferably accounting with a knowledge of tax work
