Summary: The Technology Training Officer for the INNOVATE+ project will be responsible for the strategic development and delivery of AI and digital training programs aimed at supporting SMEs in Northern Ireland and Ireland. This full-time role is part of a cross-border initiative designed to enhance innovation, productivity, and competitiveness among businesses. The position requires significant experience in IT project management and training development. The role is fixed-term until June 30, 2029, and is based in Derry~Londonderry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic development and delivery of AI and digital training programmes within the INNOVATE+ project.

- THE ROLE -

The appointment is for a full-time Technology Training Officer for the INNOVATE+ project. They will be part of the UU project delivery team and will be responsible for the strategic development and delivery of AI and digital training programmes within the INNOVATE+ project. The INNOVATE+ project is a four-year cross-border initiative supporting SMEs in Northern Ireland and Ireland to boost innovation, productivity, and competitiveness. Funded by PEACEPLUS and led by Atlantic Technological University with partners Ulster University, Queen’s University Belfast, and Catalyst, it will engage 955 SMEs and directly support 715 businesses to adopt new products, services, or processes. Through training, consultancy, and student placements, the project promotes digital transformation, AI adoption, sustainability, and regulatory compliance, aiming to strengthen business resilience, create jobs, and encourage cross-border collaboration. This project is supported by PEACEPLUS, a programme managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB). We may create a 12-month waiting list for the same or similar roles within the Department / Faculty. The University reserves the right to extend the waiting list across the University if required for certain posts.

The postholder will be required to have:

  • An honours degree within a STEM related subject or an equivalent professional IT training qualification.
  • Significant experience of working on IT projects which include business change that impacts a wide range of users and their daily activities.
  • Significant experience in developing and delivering training materials on AI & digital technologies, with knowledge of training methods and delivery.
