Technology Risk Manager - 6-month contract

On behalf of a City of London based financial services organisation, I am looking for an experienced Technology Risk Manager on an initial 6-month basis.

This is a critical role supporting the identification, assessment and management of technology-related risks across the organisation. You will play a key part in the day-to-day management of technology risks and issues, while helping to drive continuous improvements across technology risk governance processes.

Working closely with Technology, Security, Business and Compliance teams, you will help ensure risks are clearly understood, appropriately monitored and effectively mitigated across both operational and change environments.

Responsibilities

  • Support BAU technology risk and issues management processes using GRC tooling.
  • Identify, assess and monitor technology risks, ensuring appropriate reporting and escalation.
  • Conduct control testing and assurance reviews to assess control effectiveness as part of the issue management process.
  • Support the production of reports, governance materials and other technology risk management artefacts.
  • Partner with Technology and Business teams to embed risk-aware practices across delivery and operational processes.
  • Support regulatory, audit and compliance engagements by providing relevant risk information and evidence.
  • Track the remediation of risk issues, incidents and control gaps, ensuring timely closure.
  • Support the development of risk metrics, dashboards and management information.
  • Help implement and improve report automation processes.

Skills/Experience required

  • You will have a strong background in technology risk, IT controls, audit or a related assurance function, with a good understanding of technology and operational risk principles.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements affecting technology functions.
  • Ability to analyse risk themes, identify control gaps and recommend pragmatic solutions.
  • Strong reporting and data analytics skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Professional certification such as CISA, CRISC, CISSP or equivalent.
  • Experience supporting internal or external audit processes.
  • Experience working within financial services or another regulated industry.
  • Familiarity with control testing methodologies and GRC platforms.
  • Ability to assess the impact of emerging technologies on an organisation's risk profile.
  • Strong analytical skills and confidence working with risk data and metrics.
