Summary: The Technical Support role focuses on providing level 1 and 2 support for Linux server and web hosting services. Candidates must reside within a commutable distance of Preston, Lancashire, as relocation is not an option. The position is permanent and full-time, with remote work available after initial onsite training. The salary ranges from £28,000 to £31,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting clients with level 1 & 2 support requests via email/help desk and telephone, in relation to services provided.
- Assessing and responding to alerts from our internal monitoring system.
- Troubleshooting client or server issues, log file analysis & more.
- Guiding and advising clients on how to independently accomplish requested tasks.
- Carry out job duties in line with company procedures relating to ISO 9001 and ISO 27001.
Key Skills:
- Experience of working in a root Linux environment via command line.
- Knowledge of the underlying principles of web hosting services in a Linux environment (web, email, SSL, DNS and IP addressing, firewalls/security).
- Experience with software management in Linux (installing/upgrading RPM’s, software compiles).
- Excellent communication skills (email, phone, face to face) when dealing with clients, colleagues and management.
