Technical Solution Engineer | Contract Role | Sheffield/Burmingham (2-3 days/week onsite)
We're hiring a hands-on Technical Solution Engineer to join a Cyber Data & Analytics (CDA) function within Cybersecurity — a team spanning cybersecurity, data science, AI, and cloud engineering.
What you'll do:
- Own end-to-end solution designs for custom cybersecurity applications
- Define and maintain architecture artefacts (HLDs/LLDs, reference architectures, ADRs)
- Drive technology evaluation across an open-source, petabyte-scale data platform
- Partner with engineering, platform, and governance teams; run design forums and influence without authority
- Contribute hands-on, including coding, when needed
What we're looking for:
- Strong big data platform design/deployment experience
- Cloud experience (Azure/AWS/GCP a plus)
- Security architecture know-how: IAM, encryption, secure SDLC, threat modelling
- Great communicator, comfortable balancing target architecture with delivery realities
- Onsite in Sheffield 3 days/week (non-negotiable)
