Technical Project Manager

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to drive the delivery of complex IT, software, and data projects within a high-profile, mission critical technology environment.

In this role, you will lead multidisciplinary technical teams, coordinate multi-supplier delivery ecosystems, and engage with senior stakeholders to ensure robust, secure, and timely project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-End Delivery: Oversee complex IT, software, and data platform initiatives from initiation through to deployment.
• Project Governance: Rigorously manage project schedules, risks, issues, dependencies, and financial forecasts.
• Technical & Supplier Leadership: Direct technical delivery teams and manage external vendors within a fast-paced, multi-supplier environment.
• Software Delivery Management: Apply a deep understanding of the SDLC, Agile frameworks, and software release pipelines to ensure quality outputs.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate progress, risks, and strategic decisions effectively to senior business and technical stakeholders.

Key Requirements

• Proven track record delivering complex IT, software, and data engineering projects.
• Strong core project management discipline across schedule, risk, issue, dependency, and financial control.
• Demonstrated experience leading technical teams, third-party suppliers, and senior stakeholders.
• Sound understanding of software delivery lifecycle (SDLC), Agile practices, and release management.
• Knowledge of data platforms, data integration, and enterprise software delivery.
• Ability to operate effectively within a dynamic, multi-supplier environment.
• Solid understanding of Kubernetes, containerised applications, and cloud-native architecture.

Desirable Experience

• Direct experience working within defence digital, aerospace programs.
• Security Clearance: Due to the nature of the end-client estate, candidates holding an active MOD SC Clearance will be heavily prioritized to ensure immediate billing.
• Hands-on familiarity with cloud technologies, including VMware environments.
