Summary: The Technical Project Manager role involves overseeing the design and implementation of storage and backup technologies, ensuring alignment with business requirements and architecture roadmaps. The position requires collaboration with various teams and vendors to optimize performance and manage migrations from legacy systems. The role is hybrid, requiring three days a week in the office, and is contract-based for six months. A strong background in relevant technologies and experience in project management is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement networks, firewalls, service design, disaster recovery, automation, monitoring, security, and auditing.
- Work with vendors to define strategy based on business requirements and architecture roadmap.
- Prepare high-level designs (HLD), low-level designs (LLD), and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Provide proof of concept (POC) to business and ensure technology aligns with business requirements.
- Gather production performance data, identify gaps, and implement solutions.
- Define strategy and coordinate with stakeholders.
- Tune systems for high performance to meet business demands.
- Consolidate technologies in line with architecture roadmap.
- Plan migration strategy for large data using native tools and Datadobi.
- Collaborate with Windows, Networks, Security, and Operations teams to build services and technical capabilities.
- Plan and support migrations from legacy hardware to latest technologies.
- Organize application, middleware, and end-user testing for migration.
- Design and implement secure connectivity with vendor platforms for proactive support.
- Work with tools team to build enterprise dashboards using REST API and automate operations using RunDeck and Ansible.
- Organize workshops with operations team for transition.
- Identify security gaps and collaborate with security team to address them.
Key Skills:
- 8-10 years of experience in storage and backup technologies.
- Proficiency in EMC Centera, Celerra, VNX, Unity, Symmetrix DMX, VMAX, VMAX3, RecoverPoint, and other storage solutions.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.
- Knowledge of networking technologies including Cisco Nexus and Brocade Switches.
- Strong project management skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
- Experience in designing and implementing secure connectivity solutions.
- Familiarity with automation tools like RunDeck and Ansible.
- Ability to analyze performance data and implement improvements.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
