Summary: The Technical Project Manager role focuses on leading a team of engineers while ensuring their professional growth and maintaining high productivity. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and management skills, emphasizing collaboration across departments and adherence to agile methodologies. The manager is responsible for project planning, team guidance, and fostering a supportive work environment. The role is hybrid, allowing for flexibility in work arrangements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of engineers.
  • Help the engineers grow their skills and experience.
  • Author project plans for epics.
  • Run agile project management processes.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to team members on technical contributions, product architecture, and other areas.
  • Maintain empathy for the team by keeping awareness of engineering processes and practices.
  • Ensure high quality delivery of technical stories while working with scrum teams.
  • Responsible for story-based design, development & local test and adherence to all coding standards.
  • Lead the team into delivery of high-quality code.
  • Contribute strongly in all agile ceremonies (planning / stand-ups / retros etc).
  • Support the team technically and culturally to achieve all targets.
  • Strong familiarity with Jira and Confluence, and knowledge of DevOps and Continuous Integration & Delivery.
  • Contribute to and design delivery discussions, managing multiple stakeholders.
  • Generate and implement process improvements.
  • Hold regular 1:1s with all team members and provide clear feedback on individual performance.
  • Foster technical decision-making on the team, making final decisions when necessary.

Key Skills:

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Experience in agile project management.
  • Technical background in software development, particularly with Java microservices and APIs.
  • Proficiency in Jira and Confluence.
  • Knowledge of DevOps and Continuous Integration & Delivery.
  • Excellent communication and coaching abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and facilitate discussions.
  • Experience in conducting code reviews and providing technical guidance.
