Summary: The Technical Lead (Workday HCM) will play a pivotal role in supporting an HCM modernization project for an international banking client in Basel. This position requires extensive experience in Workday implementation and architecture, as well as collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure the technical solution aligns with organizational standards. The role is a rolling contract until March 31, 2026, with the potential for extension, and involves leading a team of Solution Architects and Technical Analysts. The successful candidate will also provide guidance on integration projects and data migration activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build strong relationships with business stakeholders and technical leads.
- Manage and guide Solution Architects and Technical Analysts assigned to the Modernisation programme.
- Act as a "go to" person for technology workstream during the implementation cycle.
- Ensure documentation and sign-off of design, build, testing, and implementation activities.
- Deliver architecture practices aligned with leading practices and standard Workday features.
- Manage the development of architecture artefacts and transition from current to target state architecture.
- Deliver and report on technical workstream deliverables.
- Follow governance principles across Workday solution architecture and design decisions.
- Provide technical guidance to implementation teams for alignment with HRM solution design.
- Ensure developed solutions meet business, technical, and operational support requirements.
- Identify gaps in current technical architecture and propose updates.
- Support integration of Workday with other systems.
- Participate in design discussions and architectural decisions.
- Support data analysis and migration between legacy and Workday/ServiceNow systems.
- Coach and assist less experienced colleagues with Workday HCM and ServiceNow HRSD platforms.
Key Skills:
- 5+ years of experience as a Workday Architect with a proven track record in Workday implementation.
- Strong understanding of HR processes and related systems like ServiceNow.
- Expertise in architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF) and multiple IT architecture disciplines.
- Experience in enterprise integration and designing solutions for cloud and on-prem environments.
- Hands-on experience with complex system implementations and business change initiatives.
- Experience with enterprise-scale non-functional/technical testing.
- Fluency in English with the ability to communicate complex technical solutions.
- Workday certification is a strong advantage.
- Experience in technical aspects of Operational design and support.
- Experience with foundational and modern SDLC methods (e.g., Scrum).
- Experience defining data architecture and migration approaches is an advantage.
- Experience integrating Workday with PeopleSoft HCM & Payroll or other HR & Payroll solutions is an advantage.
